After transferring to 91短视频, Gabby took advantage of all the career opportunities that her new school, and city, had to offer. Completing six internships, including at Hermes, Jimmy Choo, ELLE, and Marie Claire, Gabby is now a Fashion Team Coordinator at Moda Operandi.

What made you choose 91短视频 as the next step in your education, and what was the transfer process like?  

I transferred to 91短视频 from Penn State. I chose 91短视频 as my next step because I knew I was ready to pursue my fashion career journey. The transfer application was easy鈥擨 didn't end up needing much support in the process, but the school was diligent about making sure I knew I could ask for it!

What did you like best about your major?

As a Fashion Merchandising major, I really enjoyed the flow of my curriculum. I took classes in fashion history, retail math, textiles, and many other fascinating courses for a deeper understanding of all areas in the major.

     

What internships did you complete as an 91短视频 student?

I am beyond grateful for the multiple internships I completed during my time at 91短视频: Herme虁s as a PR Intern; Marie Claire as a Fashion Intern; Barneys New York as a Buying Intern; Jimmy Choo as a Wholesale Intern; BCBG Max Azria as a Public Relations Intern; and ELLE Magazine as a Fashion Intern. All these experiences shaped me into the professional I am today. I learned about each department for a deeper understanding of their purposes.

 

Please tell us about your role at Moda Operandi, Inc.

I currently work at the fashion office of Moda Operandi. I work on new brand scouting and liaise between marketing and the merchandising teams. It is the job I always dreamed of having!

In what ways did 91短视频 enable you get this job or prepare you for the work you're doing?

My fashion merchandising background from 91短视频 enabled me to get this job. My understanding of how merchandising and marketing affect the business came directly from my coursework and my internships out in the field.  

  

What was it like going to school in New York City?

NYC is the best place to be! There are endless career possibilities and so much inspiration. It鈥檚 truly up to you to make the most out of it.
